she said marks fade, but scars dont...whats the diff?MY dermatologist told me that theres a difference between acne scars and just red marks left by spots..is this?
Red or brown spots under the skin are just your skin healing from the acne. These fade over time, anywhere between 6-18 months depending on the severity. Usually scars are raised and more flesh colored meaning they've healed and you can't do anything to get rid of them really.

I have red/brown spots and have been very proactive in treating them and they have faded greatly in just a few months. Use vitamin E oil on the affected spots, use sunblock whenever out in the sun, keep the skin moisturized, drink lots of water, and take fish oil supplements and you will see them fade very quickly.MY dermatologist told me that theres a difference between acne scars and just red marks left by spots..is this?
Of course it is true... she is a doctor. Scars are color and usually a little bit of an indentation. But where there was the bump, it takes a little while for it to fade, it shouldn't take too long though. It'll take longer though if you have a pale/fair complexion.
