Acne scars?

I have been getting acne since I was 11 years old on my forehead and here I am 10 years later still getting acne but now I get them on my cheeks. I have tried many over the counter face washers but they never worked very well. Now I have many scars and blemishes on my cheeks that I want to get rid of. Acne has been taking over my life for the last decade and I want to successfully put it to a stop. I notice that I break out the most when I dont get enough sleep and stress but I suffer from insomnia. I want to visit a dermatologist but I am a college student and dont make much. I really want to get rid of my acne scars. Can anybody give me some suggestions to speed up the recovery of my scars to make my skin look more toned? Please only answer if you have personal experience, thanks!Acne scars?
Hi - I've had acne since i was 12 and am now 21. My parents always tried to tell me it wasn't bad and that everyone gets acne and never wanted to do much about it. I don't know if you are in Australia or not. I'm in Australia, and as soon as i was able i got a referral from my doctor to the dermatologist because i was starting to get the occasional cystic acne on my cheeks along with the normal little bumps covering my entire face. My dermatologist prescribed me roaccutane which in Australia is on the list of perscriptions that if you have a Healthcare card - if you're a student and have low income it's easy to get one of these- you can get about two months supply of roaccutane for 7 bucks. If you don't have a health care card its about 30 bucks. They are wonder tablets - cleared my skin completely, as well as taking away most of the scarring discolouration in about 2 months and i could notice it working after just a week. It dries out your skin heaps so you have to wear lip balm and moisturise at night but believe me it's worth it - the only thing that helps. I had to go off it because I'm married now and it can cause birth defects and my acne has come back slightly but i only get the occasional one. My brother's former girlfriend had extremely bad acne - huge white cysts all over her face and it cleared that up completely - she's stopped taking roaccutane and it's never come back - she does still have scars though. Apparently it only comes back and mildly then in 10% of people - damn being in that 10%. But you should really give it a try. I even tried proactiv and while that was fairly good it didn't clear it up anywhere near as well and quick as taking roaccutane - really, if you are serious about wanting to get rid of your acne, ask your doctor about it - you won't look backAcne scars?
I had awesome results with Market America's Timeless Prescription 3-peice acne system. They also sell a gelcap to take orally called PrevaDerm. It is kind of pricey, but well worth it.

As far a scars go, you can try an over the counter gel like Mederma, but I don't know if that works on acne scars. If you do get your acne under control, consider scraping up some cash to get laser treatments for the scars.
I am 48 and still get a zit or two. I have really bad scarring from when I was younger. I had cystic acne. Horrible way to be in your early 20's. If you smoke, stop, that is just increasing your scar size. Drink plenty of fluids, do not touch your face alot, do not wash your face numerous times a day. Washignt repeatedly activate the sebum in your skin, creating oil, making zits.

I have been using a moisturizing soap (not antibacterial, you kill the good with the bad) and wash my face once day. I don't wear foundation (nor do you I hope).

Funny thing tho, even with my bad skin, I still was never without a boyfriend. And hot ones too. (no, I don't have big boobies or anything like that), but for some reason no one seemed to see the bad skin.

Don't put lemon juice on your skin, lemon juice contains OIL! You do not need more oil on your skin. Oatmeal soap works good too because it cleans off the dead skin cells which cloh up your pores.

Eat lots of foods containing Vitamin A and K. Both very good for your skin. And pizza, chips, sodas, etc in minimal amounts.

Ok, good luck! BUT! Before you try anything, do your research on the web. Go to WebMD for good info.

Geez, people....NO LEMON JUICE. BAD BAD BAD... WHO ARE THE PEOPLE. Inexperienced and uninformed. NO LEMON JUICE. NO NO NO BAD BAD BAD
After you pop a pimple put a little lemon juice on a piece of cotton and press it against you pimple for ten seconds. That helps a bit on scars you already have too. Neutrogena has an anti-scar cream that is supposed to be good.
Sorry, but your scars are yours forever, you'll just have to get used to them or cover them with make-up if they bother you. You should focus now on preventing further scaring. Most of the wash-products are a scam. Try a course of antibiotics and if it doesn't help get a course of Rouacutane. It's a difficult treatment but it's almost 100% effective.
apply lemon straight the the scars. the scars shud fade soon.
