How can I get rid of acne scars?

I've finally got rid of my acne but I still have lots of red marks that don't seem to want to go away, any tips? How can I get rid of acne scars?
There are lots of things that you can do to get rid of acne scars naturally. One of the simple, natural and cheaper techniques is the use of baking soda and water. Make a paste out of baking soda and water. Scrub it on your face for one or two minutes. Rinse and apply moisturizer.

Another natural method you can use is tea tree oil. You should apply this to the area many times everyday. Some research indicates that this is very very good.

You can also make use of aloe for the scars but if you want to get rid of the acne, make use of honey and cinnamon. Some folks have also used vitamin e oil and olive oil to remove it.

It is also advisable that you avoid the sun. Sun is known to darken the scar areas. If you can help it, wear sunglasses. How can I get rid of acne scars?
Vitamin A - Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin that helps you have beautiful, healthy hair and skin. You can find vitamin A from fruits and vegetables. Dark green vegetables and deep yellow vegetables as fruits give you a good dose of vitamin A by providing carotenes. Oatmeal is a good source of vitamin A, as well as cantaloupe, honeydew melon, broccoli, spinach and sweet potato. Liver contains a megadosis: watch out, vitamin A is stored in the body and you can actually get vitamin A poisoning.

Vitamin E - Vitamin E helps to normalize decreased levels of antioxidant enzymes. This is often prevalent in male acne patients, but vitamin E has proven beneficial to both male and female acne sufferers. Almonds, sunflower seeds, peanut butter, spinach, broccoli and mango are all great sources of vitamin E.Even a snack as simple as 录 to 陆 cups of raw nuts and seeds can help your skin become clearer and healthier.

Selenium - Selenium works much like vitamin E in that it also helps to normalize decreased levels of antioxidant enzymes. Selenium can be found in foods such as vegetables, meats and bread. Some nuts, such as Brazil nuts and walnuts are also rich in selenium. You can also supplement your diet with selenium, taking 100 to 200 micrograms per day. However, 3 陆 ounces of beef has 35 micrograms of selenium and 3 ounces of tuna has 63. Brazil nuts, though, are the winner with 544 micrograms of selenium per ounce.

Chromium - Chromium, found in brewer's yeast, has been shown in research studies to heal acne. You can add brewer's yeast to many different foods.Sprinkle a tablespoon over cold cereal or hot oatmeal, mix it into soups and stews or add it into your breakfast smoothie. Be careful, though, if you are not accustomed to brewer's yeast, a large serving of it can cause nausea and diarrhea. Start small, just a teaspoon or tablespoon at a time. This is a great acne buster.

AVOID TOUCHING YOUR FACE. Your hands and fingers have a lot of oil on them that can clog your pores. If you touch your face, some of that oil is transferred to your face.

Apply sour cream to your face. While yogurt is good, it can slip off easily. Buy fresh sour cream and refrigerate. Tie back your hair and make sure not to soil anything. Smear your face, especially pimples, with sour cream using your palms and wash it off after 15 minutes. If you are really busy, then simply apply the sour cream to your pimples and work until fifteen minutes are over, then wash off the pimples with warm water.

Try going out in the sun. The UV rays dry out your spots and stimulate the vitamin D production in the body.

Here are a few tips that will help you know how to treat acne at home.

1. If you have red angry looking acne, don't touch it. If you squeeze now, all you'll do is force the contents deeper into the skin that will make matters worst. And all you'll end up with is redder, angrier acne than you had before. Don't do it.

2. If you have a yellow custard top? Go for it. These beauties CAN be squeezed but there's an art to it. Here's how. Wash your hands thoroughly to avoid trouble and infection. Put a tissue over your finger. Why? Because you want the contents of the spot on the tissue, not splattered all over the mirror. Using the side of your thumb and the end of your finger, very gently start to squeeze. Don't whatever you do, use your nails as this will damage your skin. Stop when you're applying a lot of pressure and nothing is happening and you see clear fluid, rather than yellow grotty stuff and the spot begins to bleed. When you've finished dab it with antiseptic. Once the custard bit is out, the spot will heal more quickly than an unsqueezed yellow top would, providing that you now leave it well alone. Now wash your hands again.

3. Whiteheads and blackheads. If acne is left untreated they may cause this problem. Here the rule is if they're black, squeeze but if they're small, white raised lumps leave them alone. All that stuff about clean hands, tissues and stopping if nothing is happening or you see blood, apply here too.

Tips for acne treatment

1. DON'T TRY TO WASH IT AWAY

Acne isn't caused by dirt. In fact people with oily skin have cleaner skin than average because they wash it more often. But it's a fact that washing too much can make acne worse because it makes the skin dry and sore. So, wash no more than twice a day, using mild soap and water. If you have patches of dry skin, don't worry about putting moisturizer on. It won't make your acne worse. If you're still concerned, use an oil free moisturizer.

2. DON'T NUKE 'EM

There are lots of over the counter creams, gels, lotions and potions. Most contain a powerful bleaching agent called benzoyl peroxide. You'll find the strength written on the label. You might be tempted to go straight for the highest sort, working on the 'let's nuke 'em principle. The likely result is that you'll irritate your skin like mad. It may also go all dry a
I've got the same problem!

I've found that making sure you don't get any new ones is really the best way to go about it since your old ones will usually fade with time.

However, there are some lotions that help even out skin tone...And they're typically oil-free so that will help with acne.

There's also a product by Neutrogena called 'Rapid Clear.' It's about ten bucks at Target but trust me, it's really worth the price. It's helped clear not only my acne, but it's helped fade some of the scars too.

Anyway, I hope this helps. And good luck to you! If you find anything that works better, lemme know? ;D
COCO BUTTER! This stuff works amazing. They also have things like scar-off etc. Anything that would work for a normal scar will work for acne scars! Go to Wal-Mart or your local pharmacy and look for head-on. Head-on makes a scar off remover though I am not exactly sure what it is called. But again Coco butter will do the trick as will any normal scar remover!

Hope this answer helps you
There's not too much you can apply to them in the way of creams, etc, apart from whitening/brightening creams. What you need to do is get laser, IPL or a peel which will remove the upper layers of skin. Also, if you use face washes/scrubs/lotions with glycolic acid in them, it will help shed the top layer.
i heard chemical peels work
