Acne scars?

not only do i have them on my face but i have scars on my legs too which have been there for years! how do i get rid of them?Acne scars?
You can try salicylic acid gel, working up to 3 times a day. This will take a LONG time. If the scars are fairly recent, injections by a doctor of Kenalog (triamcinolone) either by fine needle or compressed air, or application of Diprolene AF (augmented betamethasone.) has a good chance of fading the scars.

If these don't work, then dermabrasion or laser resurfacing of the skin are the best options. In the case of a few scars that are not very big, it is possible to do a ';punch biopsy'; removal of the scarred area. If very tiny, the hole can be closed with very fine sutures. If somewhat larger, the scar can be removed from the plug and the plug sewn back into the hole. Either way the resulting scar would be unnoticeable. Unfortunately, these cosmetic procedures are usually not covered by insurance.

Anyone who has the kind of acne that is causing scarring should get treatment to prevent scar formation. This is covered by most insurance. Scarring from acne should almost never happen with the treatments available since the late 20th century.
