How do you get rid of acne scars?

I have red circles on my cheeks but they arent bumps, I never had acne until I got pregnant, and now i have a couple of these red dots, is there anything that is affective except covering them with a bunch of concealer/foundation? I hate to put so much on my skin!How do you get rid of acne scars?
